Farming Our Land
Narrated by Roy Marsden
The Norfolk town of Kings Lynn lies at the heart of the local agricultural industry.
Over the years the landscape and farming methods have changed dramatically and this DVD follows those changes. A mixture of archive film, old photographs and interviews with farmers and workers, bring this fascinating story to life.
It all began with the large scale drainage of the fenland which allowed the previously unusable swamp land to become the most productive agricultural land in the country.
Processes became mechanised, workers roles evolved and the markets expanded. However, through local innovation and far sightedness, Lynn and it’s surrounding farmland have always managed to bring the harvest home.
