The Ferguson TE20 - In Colour

Narrated by John Stovell

In this MFA Special Edition we look back at the Ferguson TE20 universally known as the ‘Little Grey Fergie’. These films, previously unused in our already comprehensive Archive series are highly prized on account of being filmed in fabulous colour! – a rarity in the early 50’s.

Our first film called; quite dramatically ‘Of Soil and Life’ investigates the growing influence of the TE20 around the world. Two films demonstrate the use of the TE20 in Australia, which provide a unique insight into farming practices down under in the 40’s and 50’s. Finally the superb “Heart of an Enterprise” is filmed at Stoneleigh Abbey in Warwickshire, during a time when Massey Harris and Ferguson products were only just coming together.

Over half a century might divide the TE20 from the modern tractors of today, but the legacy of Harry Ferguson’s ground breaking three-point linkage and draft control has stood the test of time as today’s big red machines continue to pay tribute to his inventive genius with the name ‘Ferguson’ gracing each and every bonnet.

What better accolade could there possibly be!
